What is Infrared Sauna?

Historically from before Roman times, humans have used both wet and dry saunas for heating the body. Now new technology has both increased the beneficial effects and reduced potential hazards with the development of the far infrared sauna. A far infrared sauna requires less heat, thus making it more comfortable and less likely to cause a reaction while improving its ability to liberate chemicals out of the body.

The Vital Infrared Sauna at TEMPLE Wellness Studio is designed to hold up to three people but two comfortably.  During a session the client wraps in a towel and sits or lies in the sauna.  The heat will gradually raise body heat to the point where the client sweats heavily, therefore starting the process of removing toxins.

Description:
The infrared sauna provides soothing heat, radiated directly to the body to assist in relieving muscle tension & pain, excreting toxins, relieving stress & helping with weight loss; plus much more.  Unlike a traditional heated rock sauna where temperatures range from 140° to 190°, far infrared saunas range from 105° to 140°.  They heat quickly and penetrate deeply to alleviate sinus pressure & congestion, induce deep relaxation & promote restful, satisfying sleep, and a good cleanse for the lymphatic system.

How It Works:

An infrared sauna uses infrared heaters to emit infrared radiant heat, which is absorbed directly into the human body.  Infrared (IR) radiation is electromagnetic radiation that hits the surface of the body and heats through a process called conversion, instead of heating the surrounding air.
